Custom Polynesian

The whole concept of having and creating a tattoo arrived from the polynesian islands of Hawaii, Tonga, Samoa, and Tahiti within the 1800’s. The word tatoo is actually derived from the Polynesian word "Tatau," which means to mark the skin with color. In Hawaii, the word for tatoo was called "Kakau."
